“I remember picking my first bouquets of lily of the valley as a young child at my grandparent’s home and how their perfume would fill the air wherever I placed them” - Linnea

Our story

As long as I can remember I have loved flowers. The unique look, feel and scent of each different bloom is a beautiful gift from nature and in my opinion, a reminder of just how precious our planet Earth is. Being named after a Scandinavian wildflower, Linnea, it seems fitting that I would love flowers so much.

I remember picking my first bouquets of lily of the valley as a young child at my grandparent’s home and how their perfume would fill the air wherever I placed them. Whenever I walk past my own lily of the valley garden, I am instantly brought back in time to those childhood memories.

As a kid, I was always eager to help my mother shop for annuals and plant them among her perennial gardens at our family home. This love and joy continued to flourish as I grew older and flowers were often the inspiration I would choose to draw and paint as an art student. Putting together a bouquet of my mother’s flowers were often used to decorate our family home or to give as a gift or pick-me-up to friends and family members.

Picked with care

In 2008, my husband, Jason, and I bought a house in Mansfield Center, Connecticut very close to my childhood home. Since then, we have been transforming our yard into perennial and annual cutting gardens. Consistently coming up with new yard projects, such as hard-scaping, splitting and moving perennials, and experimenting with different seeds. Working together in our gardens has been a constant therapeutic and rewarding occurrence these past fourteen years.

Having worked in the floral business at local shops over the last eight years, designing became an artistic expression of mine. All of these opportunities to work with local designers have taught me valuable lessons and skills, which has provided me the opportunity to work artistically with a medium I absolutely adore. I will forever be grateful for all the support and experiences I’ve shared with my teachers and for their support during this new endeavor. Rooted Dreams Floral Company is a family affair with help from our family, close friends, great local businesses, and even our pets sometimes.

“Her dreams have always been there patiently waiting in the background, and now we're all so happy to finally see them take root and grow”
